Ballarat to host bumper Pink Diamond Finals Night

Australia’s richest regional greyhound series, the $1.175M Pink Diamond series for Vic Bred greyhounds, will conclude with a massive finals night at Ballarat on 17 June, in a huge coup for the local region.

Pink Diamond finals night – which will incorporate 12 feature finals across a range distances for greyhounds of various abilities – was originally slated for Warragul, however that club is unavailable for racing on that particular weekend.

Open exclusively to Victorian bred greyhounds, the Pink Diamond series will incorporate a boost of almost $300,000 in prize money and breeder bonuses in 2022.

Thursday 9 June & Friday 10 June
Venues: Warragul, Shepparton, Bendigo, Geelong

Friday 17 June
Venue: Ballarat

Note: Maiden and Rank-restricted events will run across three weeks starting 2 & 3 June.

Key enhancements of the 2022 Pink Diamond series include:

– A significant uplift in lower grade prize money on Pink Diamond Finals night.

– All 12 feature finals on 17 June to be elevated to ‘Listed’ status and carry minimum first prize money of $25,000.

– Introduction of fourth place prize money and breeder bonuses.

– An extra week of Rank-restricted events due their popularity in 2021.

Pink Diamond finals night will move to Warragul in 2023 as part of a rotation.

Ballarat will host all 12 Pink Diamond finals on 17 June in what will be a spectacular showcase of the best Victorian bred greyhounds.
