How to spend $20 on the TAB Topgun

‘In form’ form analyst The Watchdog is tipping Jeff Britton’s litter brothers Mr. Fix It and Do It to give a great sight at huge odds in Saturday night’s Group 1 TAB Topgun (525m) at The Meadows.

Do It (Box 1) and Mr. Fix It (Box 4) ran the quinella in the G1 Adelaide Cup final on October 8 and both boast excellent records at The Meadows.

Mr. Fix It has won 14 from 22 over the 525m course, including the Victorian National Sprint final, where he defeated Topgun favourite Aston Rupee, while Do It has a 5 from 14 record.

Currently a $17 chance in TAB’s market, The Watchdog says Mr. Fix It is “way over the odds”, while from Box 1 he predicts Do It might get the last crack at his front-running sibling, as was the scenario in the Adelaide Cup, at $10.

“Mr. Fix It loves The Meadows, he’s foolproof early, he goes his 5 flat to 5.04sec consistently.”

“I can see him running that again and that will see him head into the back well and truly in front. It all depends on who camps on him.

“Do It picked him up in the Adelaide Cup. He was able to step well and from Box 1 I’m tipping he’ll step pretty well again.”

“If he’s sitting second or third up the back, he’s going to prove hard to hold out.”

The Watchdog also identified superstar Tiggerlong Tonk (Box 6) as a “smoky” at $10 in the grand campaigner’s second crack at the Topgun.

The Watchdog says Aston Rupee (Box 2) is a deserved $2.25 favourite, while he rates Zipping Kyrgios (Box 3) at $8 as the best chance of the NSW quartet.

“That’s Aston Rupee’s right price. He is the fastest chaser on the planet but he is going to need that little bit of luck.”

“If he does time the start to perfection, this is probably going to be his race; this will silence the critics and get his G1 win.”
