Bulldogs & Tonk are ‘top dogs’?

Bulldogs’ supporters will be ‘drooling’ over this AFL/Greys offer from TAB.

The betting giant’s cross-sports proposition is $6.00 for the ‘Doggies’ to lose by 15pts or less – or even win – against the Power in Preliminary Final 2 and ‘ultimate professional’ Tiggerlong Tonk to win the G2 SEN Track Healesville Cup final (350m).

Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs met in Round 23, with victory going to the ‘Croweaters’ by 2pts.

And Port Adelaide went straight into a preliminary final courtesy of dishing out a 43pt hiding to Geelong in week one of the finals.

The Western Bulldogs have done it tougher but have been full of ‘bark’. They accounted for Essendon by 49pts in an elimination final before prevailing in a 1pt thriller over the Brisbane Lions in a semi-final.

But with Bulldogs’ captain Marcus Bontempelli likely to be carrying an injury and Adam Treloar out of form after returning from injury, it looks as though Port Adelaide should win the midfield battle on the back of Brownlow Medal favourite Ollie Wines.

Meanwhile, the Correy Grenfell-trained Tiggerlong Tonk is chasing a $50,000 first prize in the Healesville Cup. He’s quoted at $3.00F on TAB’s fixed odds market.

A dual G1 winner, Tiggerlong Tonk has won 42 races from 88 starts – including eight of his past 15.

He was the fastest qualifier (18.93sec) in last year’s Healesville Cup series, eventually finishing sixth in the final.

The Power vs Doggies blockbuster at Adelaide Oval commences at 7.40pm on Saturday night, while Tiggerlong Tonk is in Race 6, Box 6 at 12.22pm on Sunday.

Pawnote: TAB has also set the following markets: Run To The Rose/Top Cat Video Cup (Anamoe/Mepunga Ruby) – $6.00; Makybe Diva Stakes/Healesville Cup (Incentivise (top 3)/Tiggerlong Tonk) – $5.50; Top Cat Video Cup/Healesville Cup (Mepunga Ruby/Tiggerlong Tonk) – $6.50.

WATCH: Tiggerlong Tonk (7) clocks a 19.27sec G2 Healesville Cup heat win last week.
