Bulldogs’ fans will be ‘drooling’ given Saturday’s AFL/Greys offer from TAB.
The betting giant’s cross-sports proposition is a ‘jowl-dropping’ $9.00 for the ‘Doggies’ to defeat the ‘Lions’ in Semi-Final 1 and Masked Avenger to win at The Meadows.
Last week, the Brisbane Lions were ‘demonised’ in a 33pt qualifying final loss to Melbourne, while the Western Bulldogs ‘snarled’ with a 49pt elimination final win over Essendon.
Although the Lions were defeated by the minor premiers, they are now back on their home ground. And it’s worth noting they charged home late in the season to finish fourth.
The Western Bulldogs had spent much of the season battling it out for top spot. But a late season fade out, where they lost their last three games, saw them drop out of the top four.
They easily accounted for Essendon last week, and if they play to their potential will push the Lions. It could be a close match.
Meanwhile, the Joe Borg-trained Masked Avenger – a winner of 13 from 29, including two of his past four – is TAB’s $3.00 favourite in a Grade 5 (525m).
An ultra-consistent provincial flying machine, Masked Avenger was a finalist in the Listed Western Districts Derby and The Prospector.
Bounce down for the Brisbane Lions vs Western Bulldogs clash at the Gabba, Qld, is at 7.20pm, while Masked Avenger is in Race 10, Box 2 at 7.18pm.
