Britton/Langton ‘state’ of play…

All-conquering Anakie training team Jeff Britton and Angela Langton loom as major players in tonight’s Victorian National Sprint Championship (525m) and Victorian National Distance Championship (725m) at The Meadows.

In a fantastic training feat, they have four finalists in the Sprint final and two in the Distance final.

And there’s a buoyant ‘body of proof’ for the entire sextet!

Below, Langton offers a snapshot in relation to their chances as they eye both $12,000 to-the-winner events.

WATCH: Model of consistency Mr. Fix It (8) scores an all-the-way 29.97sec (Best) win in a Victorian National Sprint heat at The Meadows last Saturday night.

Victorian NSC final – Race 8, 8.37pm

Tyler Durden (Box 2) – TAB Odds: $17
“He’s well over the odds… He trialled super at Geelong (25.49sec) over 460m in the lead-up to this series… He’s got as much chance as any dog in the race.”

Jepara (Box 3) – TAB Odds: $9
“He generally runs well at this track… If he finds the lead, he’d be hard to run down.”

Mepunga Knight (Box 4) – TAB Odds: $13
“It’s not the ideal box… He ran 5.02sec last week and will be stronger for the run.”

Mr. Fix It (Box 8) – TAB Odds: $3.50
“He’s probably our best chance… The ‘six’ and ‘seven’ go hard left, so he’ll get plenty of room to move… He’s not the strongest in the race, but it’s always hard to run a good dog down.”

Langton added the Glenn Rounds-trained Aston Rupee – TAB’s $2.25F – is the one to beat. “If he gets a clear run, he’s the danger dog. But he’s drawn the middle of the field (Box 5).”

Victorian NDC final – Race 7, 8.13pm
Star Blazer (Box 1) – TAB Odds: $5.50
“He’s drawn better than ‘Hank’… There’s not much between them at The Meadows and he always gives 100 per cent.”

Hank The Hustler (Box 8) – TAB Odds: $2.30F
“He’s a super stayer, but he’ll need to begin well to put himself into the race… He’ll have to work hard if he’s got the field in front of him.”
