‘Banners flying high’ for Buddy & Koblenz?

Sydney Swans’ fans will ‘lift that noble banner high’ if Lance Franklin and Koblenz ‘are marching onwards to victory’ on Saturday night.

TAB is offering $4.00 for Franklin to kick 3+ goals against St Kilda and ‘next big thing’ Koblenz (Box 2) to salute in the G3 Warragul St Leger final (460m).

“Buddy” is just 15 goals shy of kicking a career 1000 goals and has 41 goals this season (2.7 per game).

The Sydney Swans (13-6) appear to be the current form side of the competition and will be keen to keep the momentum going to snuff out any chance of St Kilda (8-11) making the top eight.

Meanwhile, the David Geall-trained Koblenz has won 17 races from 24 starts, including 12 of his past 14. He’s TAB’s $2.15 favourite to claim the St Leger’s $25,000 first prize.

He posted a slick 25.65sec heat win last week, is undefeated in three starts from the ‘check’ trap.
Koblenz – a ‘cousin’ of freakish Ferdinand Boy – won the Pink Diamond Rookie Sprinter final (500m) at Bendigo in June.

The St Kilda vs Sydney Swans clash at Marvel Stadium commences at 7.40pm while Koblenz is in Race 8 at 7.44pm.

WATCH: Lightning-fast Koblenz (6) leads from go-to-whoa, clocking 25.65sec in a G3 Warragul St Leger heat last week.
