Rebel-rousing Pies?

The ‘magpie army’ should act defiantly on tonight’s ‘rebel rousing’ AFL/Greys offer from TAB.

The betting giant’s $2.70 cross-sports proposition is for Collingwood to lose by 16pts or less – or even win – against Port Adelaide and rising star Rebellious to be ‘obstinate’ at Geelong.

The Pies – who were ‘singing the blues’ after a loss to Carlton by 29pts last week – are 15th on the AFL ladder with five wins, while Port – who marched in against St Kilda to the tune of 13pts – are 4th with 12 wins.

Meanwhile, the Jason Thompson-trained Rebellious is TAB’s $1.12 favourite in a Mixed 4/5 (460m).

Rebellious is the sport’s ‘new kid on the block’ with nine wins from only 11 starts.

Early this month, Rebellious semaphored a sizzling 23.42sec in The Prospector final (425m) at Bendigo – only one length off superstar Shima Shine’s 23.35sec track record, set on June 28 last year.

Rebellious also finished third in the Pink Diamond Rookie Short Course final (425m) at Bendigo and at his most recent start posted a sizzling 25.49sec BON victory in a Grade 5 (460m) at Warragul.

The Round 19 encounter between Port Adelaide v Collingwood at Marvel Stadium starts at 7.10pm, while Rebellious is in Race 8 Box 6 at 9.28pm.

WATCH: ‘New kid on the block’ Rebellious (8) clocks a sizzing 25.49sec (Best) victory at Warragul on July 13.
