Important changes implemented from today

GRV has updated its Transport and Hot Weather Policies, which come into effect from Thursday 1 October.

Key changes include:

  • The interior of transport vehicles must now be kept below 30 degrees at all times when carrying greyhounds.
  • Air conditioning must be running even while the vehicle is moving when the air temperature is 32 degrees or more.
  • It is now a breach of GRV’s Hot Weather Policy to utilise penalty free scratchings on hot weather days for reasons other than poor welfare. Scratchings will be monitored for compliance with this policy.

Participants are urged to read the policies and ensure they are familiar with them at https://greyhoundcare.grv.org.au/policies-and-guidance/
