No crowds but huge coverage for greyhound racing’s 2020 TAB Warrnambool Cup

In line with the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 restrictions, Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is proud to announce it will host the $45,000 Group 2 2020 TAB Warrnambool Cup at Wannon Park on Wednesday night, 6 May.

The sport of greyhound racing continues to be conducted across Victoria as GRV has put in place a range of stringent protocols to help protect the health of staff and trainers at all racing events, while precluding the attendance of crowds.

The 2020 TAB Warrnambool Cup will be held over 450m and will be supported by two other feature races on the night – the Stan Lake Memorial (450m) and Go Distance Racing Special Event (650m).

Heats of the Warrnambool Cup will be run on Thursday night, 30 April, with nominations to close on Monday 27 April at 11am. All nominations to be made directly to GRV via FastTrack.

This year’s event will be closed to the general public in line with COVID-19 restrictions and there will be no guests on course.

However, GRV and the Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club have teamed up with television broadcaster Sky Racing to ensure that racing enthusiasts catch all of the exciting racing action.
Coverage of Warrnambool Cup night on Wednesday 6 May will include:

  • All races broadcast LIVE and FREE via The Watchdog Mobile Form Guide App.
  • Coverage to include pre-race interviews with connections of all finalists in the 2020 TAB Warrnambool Cup, along with wagering updates and behind the scenes action from the track.

The Warrnambool Cup heats and final will also be afforded live social media coverage via the ‘Watchdog Racing’ platform on Twitter.
