Sandown smorgasbord

A veritable smorgasbord of stars will ‘platter up’ at Sandown tonight.

And greyhound racing aficionados are in for a feast!

Let’s start with entrée…

Just Terms (Race 6 Box 5, 8.46pm)
Trainer: Anthony Azzopardi (Rowsley)
48 starts: 18-10-8
The Watchdog says: Is one of the best stayers in the land at present and with a clear run early she can get the job done.

Just Terms was brilliant during the Australian Cup Carnival, winning the Group 1 Zoom Top before finishing third to HERE’S TEARS in the Group 1 Super Stayers.
She’s all class and is one of the sport’s premier distance exponents.
Just Terms is boxed awkwardly in Box 5, but a middle draw won’t worry her. She has a 50% winning strike rate from Boxes 4 and 5.

Whiskey Riot (Race 8 Box 1, 9.31pm)
Trainer: Anthony Azzopardi (Rowsley)
44 starts: 21-11-4

The Watchdog says: Is one of the best in the business and he will be carving out serious time in front.

Whiskey Riot was outstanding winning the Group 1 Temlee before finishing third to his brother Fernando’s Riot in the Group 1 Australian Cup.
He then followed up with third placing in the Group 2 Shepparton Cup.
Whiskey Riot has won four races from six starts at Sandown, including last year’s Group 1 Melbourne Cup.
And he’s perfectly drawn in Box 1, as he has a 60% winning strike rate from Boxes 1 and 2.

And how about this for dessert!

Hard Style Rico (Race 5 Box 1, 8.25pm)
Trainer: Luckie Karabitsakos (Pearcedale)
18 starts: 10-3-1
The Watchdog says: Captured the Group 2 Shepparton Cup and with a clean getaway he can give the 29 seconds barrier a nudge.

Hard Style Rico recently broke the 450-metre track record in a Group 2 Shepparton Cup heat before winning the final in devastating fashion.
He’s an excitement machine who has already contested three Group 1 finals from only 18 starts.
Hard Style Rico is making his Sandown debut, but has drawn the coveted Box 1.
