WEDNESDAY WHISPER – MY AMERICAN GIRL

My American Girl’s ‘star-spangled manner’ should continue in a Mixed 3/4 over 450 metres at Ballarat tonight.

Prepared at Cranbourne by Andrew Paraskevas, My American Girl has earned her ‘stars and stripes’ with 25 wins from 42 starts.

But more importantly, she is ‘six from six’ from box eight. And guess what? She exits from the ‘pink’ alley yet again.

My American Girl has been an odds-on favourite at her past five starts, which have netted three wins, one second and one third – including heat and final victories at Shepparton over 390 metres at her most recent outings.

Last year, she won the Group 3 SA Oaks at Angle Park in Adelaide.

Her litter brother, Charmed An Taken – also trained by Paraskevas – will launch a ‘charm offensive’ with punters three races earlier in a Grade 5 over 450 metres.

Charmed An Taken (box eight), who is also suited from a wide draw, has notched nine wins, three seconds and three thirds from 15 starts. He was runner-up in last year’s Group 2 TAB Great Chase at The Meadows.

Both siblings are GRV form analyst The Watchdog’s top selections in their respective events.

Check out My American Girl’s 25.28sec win – yes, from box eight – at Ballarat over 450 metres in November last year
