Batman still a super stayer

Team Britton are breathing a sigh of relief after Tornado Tears came through for back-to-back Group 3 Superstayers over the 710-metre distance in Brisbane on Thursday night.

The four-dog field was the perfect size for the star who has recently found the habit of hitting the running rail during his races, costing him vital lengths and four Group 1 races.

Fellow Victorian Ella Enchanted lead everywhere but on the line jumping straight to the early lead from box one.

Brisbane Gold Cup winner Bago Bye Bye lobbed second in the early stages but was outpaced by Tornado Tears while Bago Bluff couldn’t get into the race.

Tornado Tears is now a winner of 24 races from 39 starts which includes nine Group victories.

WATCH: Tornado Tears (box three) claimed the Superstayers over an impressive Ella Enchanted (box one).
