Flying Amy Classic heats wrap

Sennachie (pictured) and Fernando’s Riot will hold the flag for Victoria next Thursday night in the Group 3 $110,000 Flying Amy Classic at Albion Park.

Sennachie was the only Victorian to claim victory on the night which included two heats of the Group 1 Brisbane Gold Cup.

Fastest qualifier for the night was formally Victorian trained Black Opium who stopped the clock in a flying 29.54sec, just over two lengths outside of Mepunga Blazer’s track record over the 520-metre distance.

Anthony Azzopardi’s Fernando’s Riot showed persistence and strength when he finished second behind Black Opium.

Sennachie looked at home on the Albion Park track thanks to his Group 2 Brisbane Derby win at the start of May. His Victory in the Flying Amy Classic heat was his third win on the trot.

The Steven Bruce White trained greyhound stopped the clock in 29.83sec, five lengths off his personal best of 29.53sec Albion Park.
