Miss Splendamiro Temlee invitation declined

Miss Splendamiro’s invitation to the Group 1 Temlee has unfortunately been declined due to injury.

“The Temlee comes one week to early for Miss Splendamiro,” trainer David Geall said.

The daughter of Barcia Bale – Splendourous injured herself during her third placing in the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder at Wentworth Park last month.

“We found her to have soreness in a toe and hock which we are treating and monitoring.”

The David Geall trained chaser opened up as an $8 chance to win the 520-metre invitational but drifted to $12 this morning before acceptances were due.

“She will be right for the Australian Cup heats.”

“Miss Splendamiro is a cracking greyhound and hopefully she will contest group races for at least the next three to four months.”

Geall may not head into the Temlee empty handed after he accepted Group 1 TAB Melbourne Cup winner My Redeemer’s invitation.

Fields and box for the three Group 1 invitationals at The Meadows will be announced on track on Saturday night following race three.
