Bear best in Million Dollar Chase semis

A sensational semi-final win by Poke The Bear has seen him open up as the $2.70 favourite to win greyhound racing’s first Million Dollar Chase at Wentworth Park this Saturday night.

The white and fawn sprinter showed enormous determination to defeat fellow Victorian Benali in a ding-dong semi-final at Wentworth Park on Friday, clocking 29.66sec, the fastest time of eight semis.

Poke The Bear is one of four Victorians in Saturday’s $1 Million to-the-winner final, including three from the Seona Thompson kennel.

The Thompson kennel had an extraordinary night on Friday, also winning the Adelaide Cup with Real Simple.
