Another Victorian strikes in Golden Easter Egg

Striker Light (Brett Bravo) has won Sydney’s most prestigious greyhound race when taking out the $250,000 to-the-winner Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

This is the eighth successive year a Victorian-trained greyhound has won the race, which is the richest Australian greyhound event held outside Victoria.

A 25 month old daughter of KC And All and Pretty Fancy, Striker Light was bred by the Weekes Family Syndicate in NSW and is owned by the Farrugia Bravo Syndicate.

“I was quietly confident going into the final after two sizzling runs in her heat and semi final, but the box draw (seven) was certainly a leveler and we were up against some very good greyhounds,” said ecstatic part-owner, George Farrugia.
“When she found the front down the back I was hoping she would hold on and her will to win got her home.”
Striker Light defeated Lagoon Jazzy, with Big Flood third. This was her second Group 1 win having snared the Group 1 Futurity at Wentworth Park in February.
