INSIGHTS: Ringing a return to Sale Cup

Following a dead-heat with Melissa’s Pride in the Group Three Summer Cup Final (750m) at Wentworth Park on December 10, Ring The Bell won his way into Boxing Day’s Group 1 TRFM Sale Cup final with a brilliant heat win on Sunday.

“I was very pleased he raced like he did because he needs the rails – he come out of the boxes very well and I am stoked to be back here because I am a local boy,” co-trainer and part-owner Kelvin Jones, of Sale, said of Ring The Bell’s heat win.

“It’s nice to have him back in the Sale Cup – last year he made it but he had no luck (finishing last).”

Ring The Bell’s heat win was his third from seven starts at the track – putting him in great stead for his second attempt at a Sale Cup.
