Hone In has taken out the first of two features at Ballarat tonight, claiming victory in the $10,710 GRV VIC Bred Maiden Final (450m) for trainer Ian Garland.
The son of Spring Gun and Benalla Doll worked hard for his Maiden Final victory after he missed the start, leaving Dynamic Couldron out in front of the field.
Hone In left his victory up to the dying stages of the 450 metre distance, winning by 2.57 lengths over a strong finishing Matt Machine (box 6) and Dynamic Couldron (box 1).

RSN race caller Matt Jackson picked Shima Song on top in the $7,860 Carmichael/Howell Memorial (545m), and that is exactly what happened.
The Andrea Dailly trained greyhound lead from start to finish in the middle distance feature, winning by 2.04 lengths in a time of 31.642 seconds – paying an impressive $7.30 for the win.
Shima Song has now stretched his prize money to over $29,000 from just 19 career starts (nine wins and four placings).
