Invitations to nominate for the Group 1 Topgun Sprint and Group 1 Topgun Stayers were sent out to connections on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sprint (525m) and Stayers (730m) invitationals will be held at The Meadows on Saturday, November 7, along with the middle distance Group 1 Hume Cup final (600m).
The Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association (MGRA) has issued 31 invitations to nominate for the $150,000-to-the-winner Topgun Sprint, led by current pre-nom favourite Wrongly Accused, who sits atop betting at $4.60.
Five finalists in Friday night’s Million Dollar Chase at Wentworth Park are among the Topgun Sprint invitees – Canya Mayhem, Hey Arnold, Jungle Johnny, Pound Keeping and Winsome Jet.

There were 26 invitations to nominate for the Topgun Stayers, which carries a $100,000 winner’s purse, including last year’s winner Without A Trace.
NSW’s long distance dynamo Magpie Hector, who will line up in Friday night’s G2 Sydney Cup (720m) at Wentworth Park, and Western Australian superstar Miss Envy are current joint $5 favourites for the Topgun Stayers.
Interestingly, both won G1 invitationals at The Meadows earlier this year during the Australian Cup Carnival, Magpie Hector in the Zoom Top (730m) and Miss Envy in the Rookie Rebel (600m).
Connections of invited greyhounds now have until 10am on Friday, October 23, to nominate for their respective Topgun with Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV), with the final fields for both features to be unveiled “no later” than Friday, October 30.

GRV regulates the sport of greyhound racing in the state of Victoria under the Racing Act 1958 (Act), which includes setting standards and ensuring they are met by participants.
