22 Vics set for Group 1 Heats in the West

Star Victorian greyhound Moreira (Jason Thompson) will make his much-awaited return to racing on Saturday night after his sensational win in last month’s $352,000 Group 1 Golden Easter Egg (520m) in Sydney.

He is one of 22 Victorian-trained greyhounds set to race at Western Australia’s brand new Cannington track (pictured above) in heats of the Group 1 Perth Cup (520m) or Group 1 Galaxy (715m).

Shared Equity also headlines the Perth Cup heats, jumping from box two for Anakie trainer Angela Langton.

“It was great for her to have a run on the new track last week…unfortunately she did get run down but she will be better for the run,” Angela explained.

“Box two should suit her on Saturday night, and hopefully she can jump to the front and stick to the rail to win the race.”

WATCH: Shared Equity (Box 6) finishes second behind Yunderup Dozer (Box 5) on the new Cannington track.

The daughter of Brett Lee and West On Bluebird was fortunate to have a run last Saturday night in a Perth Cup Prelude, before the last nine races on the card were abandoned due an electrical storm.
This Saturday looks like a fantastic night of racing, kicking off at 9.07pm Victorian time.
