Greyhound Racing Victoria’s Andrew Copley says that there are a lot of people interested in owning a greyhound that could reap major rewards by tapping into their own resources.
“A lot of people are interested in getting into greyhound ownership but lack the astute knowledge required to spot a bargain at the Ready 2 Race Sales. And in most cases it is too much to expect someone in that situation to risk spending a few thousand dollars on something they know little about,” Copley told SEN on Monday.
“However, if you know a greyhound trainer or someone who has experienced greyhound ownership before your could potentially give them a call and see if they’re interested in buying into a greyhound with you at the Ready 2 Race Sales, or they could at least point you in the right direction.”
“You could round up family and friends and start your own syndicate together. The thrill of watching your own greyhound race is a genuine adrenalin rush, and sometimes people just need to think outside the square in order to get their foot in the door.”
