Sweet It Is has been voted the People’s Choice – Greyhound of the Month for November.

The darling of Australian staying racing had a stellar November highlighted by her thundering victory in the Group 1 Solo Bold Trease on Melbourne Cup night.

Owner Braden Finn attributes her popularity to her racing style.

“It’s (her popularity) because of her racing pattern I suppose,” Finn said.
“It’s amazing to watch her come from behind to win her races and I think the crowd get a massive thrill from it.”

“The Bold Trease was special because the crowd were talking about her.”

After her group race wins, there’s always a massive crowd that gather on the track to get their picture taken with the four-time Group 1 champ but that’s not because of a big syndicate of owners.

“Darren (trainer Darren McDonald) and I are the only ones that own her.

“My mates seem to jump out of trees to come and watch her in the group 1’s, I don’t see them there for the smaller races!” he laughed.

The People’s Choice Most Popular Greyhound of the Year will be awarded at the Greyhound Industry Awards Night in February.
