Finey Weighs Into Xylia V Sweet It Is Debate

SEN’s greyhound expert Mark Fine says there is tremendous value about Xylia Allen in Thursday night’s Victorian Final of the National Distance Championship at Sandown Park.

TAB has opened up Xylia Allen at $3.00 to win the race behind Sweet It Is at $1.95.

Both of these superstar greyhounds won heats of the Victorian series last Thursday night, with Xylia Allen running 41.697sec over the 715m journey, some seven lengths faster than Sweet It Is’ winning time of 42.121sec.

Xylia Allen, who has broken seven track records in her illustrious career, will likely race in a forward position, while Sweet It Is, who is yet to run a track record, is renowned for her breathtaking come-from-behind finishes.

“If she (Xylia Allen) can get to the first turn clear then all props to any greyhound that can run her down – Sweet It Is included.”

“Sweet It Is will encounter and (have to) manoeuvre through traffic, which she’s very good at, but $3.00 for Xylia Allen will have me for company,” Fine told GRV’s Rick Durham on SEN on Monday night.

Fine and Durham also spoke about the upcoming TAB Great Chase series, which has netted in excess of $300,000 for organisations that care for the intellectually and physically disabled over the past decade.
