TAB Bendigo Cup Heats Wrap

Zipping Snoopy has had a timely return to form, storming into his first country cup final with a commanding win in his Group 2 TAB Bendigo Cup heat on Sunday.

Having not won a race since April, the Peter Dapiran-trained greyhound won the eighth and last Bendigo Cup heat, recording a Best of Night 23.682sec and paying $17.70 for the win.

In other news from the heats, Gippsland’s best greyhound Luca Neveelk (pictured above) made it ten straight wins, while Victorian-trained White Spyro, who won the Wagga Gold Cup in June, qualified for her first country cup.

However, story of the night was reserved for local greyhound Flying Bolt that won at the long-odds of $45.70 for trainer Andrew Mooney of Amherst.

Flying Bolt has won five of his 17 starts at his home track, as well as placing on three occasions. Last night’s heat victory was by far the biggest of his 57 start career. The son of Vee Man Vane and Itza Choker has drawn box two in the final.
