Northern Districts Cup Approaching

The Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club will soon host a new race titled the Northern Districts Cup (450m), which carries a big first prize of $25,000.

The conditions for entry include that greyhounds must be bred in Victoria, not have won a city race, and must have won less than $25,000 in prize money.

Another interesting condition that may catch trainers off guard is that greyhounds must have raced at Shepparton on at least two occasions prior to the series.

“It is important that trainers are aware that to enter greyhounds in this series their dogs must have raced at least twice at Shepparton before,” said Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club Manager, Carl McGrath.

Heats of the Northern Districts Cup will be run on Monday 2 June with the final to follow on Saturday 7 June.

Trainers are advised to check the Racing Calendar for upcoming Shepparton meetings.
