Brendan Dewan is one step closer to claiming his second Northern Districts Cup after Dewana Star qualified fastest for the 2025 edition today.

It was a faultless, all-the-way victory in windy conditions, with the talented youngster stopping the clock at 24.90 seconds over the 450-metre journey at Shepparton.

The son of Hooked On Scotch and Dewana Classic was two lengths quicker than the next best qualifier, Analyzation, who also led throughout for trainer Ashlee Terry in 25.02 seconds.

Kerrie White’s Carry On Maci took out the opening heat in impressive fashion, showing great acceleration and determination to record a 25.25 second victory.

The Group 3 Northen Districts Cup will be run at Shepparton on Friday night.
