GRV COVID UPDATE: Upcoming change to valid proof of medical exemption

Version 6 of the State Government’s Mandatory Vaccinations (Workers) Directions  came into effect on 29 October and include an upcoming change to acceptable proof of a medical exemption.

From 6pm on Friday 12 November 2021, only an official Australian Immunisation Register immunisation exemption form, completed and signed by an approved medical practitioner, is valid proof of a medical exemption from the vaccination requirements, for workers who are working outside of their home.

A letter or a certificate from a medical practitioner will not be valid proof of a medical exemption after this time.

This update will affect participants who currently hold a medical exemption that is not in the new format – see an example below of the official form which is available from your medical practitioner:

ABOVE: Pages 1 & 2 of the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation medical exemption form.
