Repeat The Same produces Launching Pad boilover

Repeat The Same caused a boilover of the highest order in the Launching Pad final at Sandown Park tonight.

He was the rank outsider at odds north of $40 and early in the race found himself dueling for the lead with kennelmate Not Again. He shook Not Again and with the biggest dangers House Of Sins and Blue Storm well back, he was able to hold on.

Despite his odds, he ran a solid time of 29.38 defeating House Of Sins and Blue Storm.

For trainer Josh Formosa and owner Ben Peart, the $150,000 first prize is reward for investment. They combined to win the Million Dollar Chase with Blue Kermaro in 2024, and plenty of those winnings have been tipped back into the sport.

Repeat The Same was one of those purchases. A well bred type produced by (Black Magic Opal x) She’s Got Wheels, who is a littermate to the enigmatic freak Zac’s Entity.

Earlier in the night Tripped Out won the Runway final which continued what’s been an amazing run of success for the Presutto family.

In the Launching Pad Consolation hot favourite Abdulla Zulu was a class above and took full advantage of his perfect draw.

The Easter Gift produced a battle from the top shelf with Ross The Boss holding off Deadly Avenger in a superb tussle.

Repeat The Same (7) wins the Launching Pad

Tripped Out (8) wins the Runway

Abdulla Zulu (1) wins the Launching Pad Consolation

Ross The Boss (4) and Deadly Avenger (6) battle in the Easter Gift
