Some of Australia’s best young sprinters meet this Thursday night in heats of the highly anticipated $444,500 Launching Pad series at Sandown Park.
Historically, it’s been a set of heats where the intensity of racing is red hot, given the combination of greyhounds being lightly raced, with a stack of ability under the hood.
It’s a series restricted to greyhounds with 1-6 wins and no more than 30 starts.
Last year’s Great Chase winner Whiskey Whiskers resumes in the opening heat, after a few tame performances in January and February.
Young gun Fractions has been topical in recent months after multiple blinding wins at The Meadows. He meets Blue Storm in Heat 2, who was big in defeat last week running home in a very strong time of 10.36 – the night’s Race Data.
It wouldn’t be a big series in Victoria at the moment without the involvement of the Presutto/Puleio combination, they have On The Prowl in Heat 4.
Bandit Swagger was great last Thursday, and will be a force in the fifth and final heat.
