If your Spotify Wrapped tells you what you listened to on repeat, Watchdog can now reveal what Victorian greyhound racing fans couldn’t stop watching, searching and replaying in 2025.

As the year comes to a close, Watchdog data has delivered a snapshot of the moments, stars and stories that captured the most attention across the platform – from blockbuster races to headline-making greyhounds and the trainers behind them.

Here’s your Watchdog Wrapped 2025.

The top five viewed races of 2025

It’s no surprise that the sport’s biggest nights dominated viewing habits, with fans repeatedly returning to the races that defined the year.

Topping the list was The Phoenix, with Deadly Avenger’s unforgettable victory proving the most-watched race on Watchdog in 2025. The world’s richest greyhound race delivered drama, speed and star power.

The Melbourne Cup final, won by Canya Mayhem, ranked second, while the Australian Cup victory of Mepunga Tully claimed third spot. Rounding out the top five were two Melbourne Cup heats – Dashing Slay and Valenzuela – highlighting just how much appetite there is for elite greyhound racing.

Deadly Avenger’s Phoenix victory was the most watched race on Watchdog in 2025.

The most searched greyhounds of 2025

When it came to greyhounds, fans weren’t just watching – they were searching.

Sitting at number one was Explicit, the greyhound searched more than any other on Watchdog this year. Close behind was the legendary Fernando Bale, whose influence continues to resonate well beyond his time on earth.

Tim Zoo ranked third, following another year that kept him firmly in the spotlight, while Bernardo and Ethanol Water completed the top five – a mix of modern stars and bloodlines that continue to shape the sport.

The most searched trainers of 2025

Behind every great greyhound is a great trainer and Watchdog data shows fans are just as invested in the people as they are the performances.

Claiming the top spot was Jason Thompson, whose kennel once again delivered on the sport’s biggest stages. Anthony Azzopardi ranked second, followed by Tom Dailly in third.

Rounding out the list were Brad Greenough and Jacqui Greenough, underlining the strength and consistency of some of the state’s most recognisable kennels.

What it tells us

Much like Spotify Wrapped, Watchdog Wrapped isn’t just about the numbers – it’s about the stories fans return to again and again. Big-race theatre, elite performers and familiar names continue to drive engagement, while Watchdog remains the go-to platform for following every stride, stat and result.

As 2025 draws to a close, one thing is clear: Victorian greyhound racing had plenty of replay value.

And if this year’s data is anything to go by, fans are already lining up their favourites for 2026.
