Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) has announced changes to the way participants renew their licences, with new requirements and processes set to take effect immediately.
Under the changes, participants will notice a different look to their licence history in FastTrack, which will now display both all licence categories, each sharing the same expiry date.
When renewing, participants will need to meet several new conditions. If your last police check was completed more than three years ago, you must provide a new one through GRV’s National Police Check provider. A fresh passport-quality photograph will also be required. Licences will now run for three years, and fees have been updated.
Applications can include multiple licence types, such as Owner and Attendant, but participants are urged to choose carefully as refunds will not be available. Education competency requirements must be completed for each licence type every three years, and all outstanding fines must be paid before starting an application.
GRV will no longer issue physical licence cards. Those racing interstate will need to present photo identification, such as a driver’s licence.
In addition, GRV will introduce limits on the number of greyhounds that new participants and those returning from disqualification can train and own. Further details on these restrictions and other changes can be found here.
