Community rallies for Blue Ribbon Fundraiser at Shepparton

The Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club united the community for a powerful cause with its annual Blue Ribbon Foundation fundraiser, this year in honour of the two police officers who tragically lost their lives in Porepunkah.

The event saw families enjoying kids’ activities and raffles. Thanks to the outstanding support of sponsors, participants, and local businesses, the fundraiser raised a remarkable $23,800 for the Blue Ribbon Foundation.

Longstanding supporters of the initiative, the Shepparton Greyhound Club and its partners Greyhound Racing Victoria, Greyhound Clubs Victoria and Sportsbet, were key contributors. Together they donated $15,000, helping push the total beyond $22,000 before the evening’s auctions and raffles added more to the tally.

“This event has been running for many years now in Shepparton, and this edition is about more than just racing – it’s about supporting the Thompson and De Waart families, and showing that greyhound racing is deeply connected to its community,” said Brad Williams, Regional Promotions Lead at GRV.

The Shepparton event reinforced the close bond between the sport and the local region.
