Delicate was the fastest qualifier in the Maturity Classic – but how do her numbers really stack up?

The promising youngster launched her winning assault the moment the lids flew open. Her first split? A blistering 5.00 seconds – the quickest of the night and 9^th fastest first split at The Meadows this year, edging out Galento (5.02) and fellow Maturity hopeful Shima Time (5.05).

Not even the speed of Wyong Dallas could go with her. Delicate carved out the fastest back split of the meeting as well – 17.66 seconds to the back mark.

The daughter of Plaintiff made her fifth win from 13 starts count, clocking a personal best and best-of-the-night 29.84 seconds. Not far behind was fellow contender Slick Splits, who posted a sharp 29.87 seconds in her heat.

Delicate also recorded the fastest average speed across all Maturity heats – 63.33 km/h, ahead of Slick Splits (63.29 km/h) and Paw Barton (63.20 km/h).
