Mepunga Flyer at The Bool in preparation for Maturity

The highly promising Mepunga Flyer is back in action at Warrnambool this Thursday, a stepping stone to the prestigious Maturity series at The Meadows in July.

He’s quickly becoming box office viewing. He’s won four of his six starts with one of them a length shy of Explicit’s time on Ballarat Cup night with a comparable early speed.

His most recent win at Warrnambool was last Thursday, that earned him spot in the race this Thursday.

“He’s very inexperienced at the moment but he looks good. All things going well he’ll be targeted at The Maturity,” said trainer Jeff Britton.

As one of Australia’s most successful trainers, Jeff Britton is clearly no stranger to a handy greyhound. But the hope he has for ‘Flyer’ is stark.

“I think I have something special. Everything he has done so far has been exceptional.”

He headlines Race 5 at Warrnambool this Thursday evening.

Heats of the Maturity are Saturday July 19 at The Meadows. A series restricted to young greyhounds (born after January 1 2023).
