GRV launches Good Friday Appeal campaign on 3AW

GRV’s chair Peita Duncan officially launched the Victorian greyhound industry’s Good Friday Appeal campaign on Friday, kicking off fundraising efforts with $10,000 on 3AW Breakfast with Ross and Russ.

Over many years, the Victorian greyhound industry, its clubs and wagering partners have raised in excess of $367,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal.

This year, that commitment continues. Throughout March and April, GRV’s 11 active clubs will be hosting a range of fundraising events and activities, with Easter family days, dedicated charity race nights and other raffles and auctions to boost the overall fundraising effort.

For every dollar that the clubs raise, GRV is going to match that total dollar for dollar, setting a target of $56,000.

Activity got off to a terrific start at last Saturday night’s Shepparton Cup, with the club raising over $3000.

Three clubs will host meetings on Good Friday this year, with Healesville (day), Geelong (twilight) and Warragul (twilight) well underway in planning their on-course activations.

With National Adoption Month in April, our Greyhound Adoption Program will also be supporting the fundraising effort, with the adoption fee of every greyhound rehomed in April going to the Appeal.

You can watch Peita’s interview with Ross and Russ below.
