Pre-race favourite Hotel Whisky One has been scratched from Fridays Horsham Cup.
RSN Greyhound expert George Farrugia spoke to trainer Anthony Azzopardi this morning who advised the scratching was due to a groin injury.
“He pulled up with some bruising on the groin area and we have chosen not to risk him,” trainer Anthony Azzopardi told Farrugia.
“He is racing so well at the moment we are erring on the side of caution in preparation for what could be a huge few months.”
The groin injury will likely keep Hotel Whisky One on the sidelines for two to three weeks.
“We are guttered because we thought he was going to be hard to beat in the final after a super heat win.”
Extradited is the first reserve and pending no further scratchings will take Hotel Whisky One’s box five in the Horsham Cup on Friday.
