Trooper Tears was first out and first home in the 2024 edition of the TRFM Sale Cup tonight (640 metres).

Jumping from box five, Trooper Tears clocked 6.05 early, holding off Black Silencer to claim Group 1 victory for trainer Robert Britton and owner John Hutchison in a time of 36.24 seconds.

Trooper Tears spent the past seven months in Queensland, returning to Victoria for a short TRFM Sale Cup campaign.

The Group 1 TRFM Sale Cup is Trooper Tears second win at Group level, having won the Launching Pad at Sandown Park in 2023.
