Boracay’s Bendigo Boil Over

Boracay Storm has caused a massive upset in the 2024 Sportsbet Bendigo Cup.

A winner of 15 races from 39 starts, Boracay Storm added the $40,000 first prize to his belt after defeating a hot field from box six.

“He got the run at the right time and showed that winning the heat was no fluke.” race caller Dan Hibberd said on Sky Racing.

Trained by David Geall and owned by the William & Judd Syndicate, Boracay Storm claimed victory paying $29.

The Community Clubs Challenge saw the Heathcote Golf Club go home from Bendigo Cup night $3,000 richer thanks to Boracay Storm and Sportsbet.

David Geall also picked up third placing in the Bendigo Cup with pre-race favourite Aston Fantastic.

Ethanol Volume was outstanding after leading all the way in the Hip Pocket Spring Cup Final (660m) for Team Dailly defeating Canya All Class in an outstanding 37.40.

“That was one of the best runs I have seen over the 660 here at Bendigo.” Dan Hibberd said.

Paul Mathieson picked up the Battlers Cup Consolation from box six with Catch My Drift.

The Battlers Cup itself went the way of Aston Ophelia for Mark Johnson, in a race that a length separated the first four place getters.

Ethanol Volume (3) wins the Spring Cup in a time of 37.40.
