#2 SHIMA SHADOW (Box 2)
Breeding: June ’21 Bernardo x Shima Song
Trainer: Tom Dailly
Record: 52 starts 23-4-10

Dale says: Shuffled back early, found trouble mid-race, covered extra ground and still managed to win. Adding to that, his run was the best time of the night, making this a top shelf performance.

#4 STAR STAY (Box 6)
Breeding: Feb ‘22 Fernando Bale x Van Nindi
Trainer: Lachlan Scott
Record: 6 starts 1-1-3

Dale says: Not many dogs go around at $34 fixed odds and come from last to win by a big margin, but that’s exactly what Star Stay did in this eye-catching performance.

#5 ZIPPING KAI (Box 6)
Breeding: Apr ‘22 Zack Monelli x Zipping Samara
Trainer: Tom Dailly
Record: 5 starts 2-0-0

Dale says: Having just his third race start, Zipping Kai showed in this exhibition of sustained speed that he is certainly going to be a top city class performer. One to add to your Blackbook.

Good thing beaten…

EL CAZADOR (Box 5)
Breeding: Oct ‘18 Aussie Infrared x Sachi
Trainer: Tracey Deglaitis
Record: 125 starts 17-38-30

Dale says: Had no right to finish so close after finding trouble on multiple occasions in this blanket finish. Incredibly, El Cazador was having his 124th start, showing he still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
