The Stir Up | September 21 Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Fellas, we’re all back together and it is great because we have quality greyhound racing in Victoria, and some of our best chasers are in Adelaide and New South Wales also.

Gerard You’re spot on about the top dogs and being back together, Quilts. Is Aussie Rocks the most underrated chaser in Victoria? The Group 1 runner-up highlights Race 6 at Sandown Park.

Trent The 515-metre Free For All is not to be missed either, Gerard. Len Me Dad continues to improve, but he faces Landyn Bale, El Dorado and Kai Bale tonight.

Quilts Don’t forget about the SA Match Race Challenge at Angle Park, Trent. Transponder, Schillaci and Big Energy are representing the ‘Big V’ and there’s an automatic Adelaide Cup berth on the line.

Gerard We switch the focus to Warragul on Friday night for the finals of the Group 3 St Leger and the Simon Benson Memorial.

Trent The field for the Warragul St Leger Final is outstanding. Alpha Zulu, Professor Snitch and Navarino have been in Group finals, while Awesome Avenger and Funny Old Fellow are in great form.

Quilts Group 1 Dapto Megastar winner Umberto is aiming to secure his second NSW feature in Friday night’s Group 2 Black Top Final at The Gardens. Head The Charge is a big chance too.

Gerard Middle-distance marvel Hector Fawley and the country cups queen Kelsey Bale headline Friday night’s Million Dollar Chase regional final being staged at Wagga.

Quilts Geoff Scott-Smith has two classy chasers in the regional final as well. Dundee Rebel is a Group 2 winner and Dundee Smokey was placed in the Group 1 Harrison-Dawson Final.

Trent There’s Premier Racing at The Meadows on Saturday night, which features last year’s Group 1 Topgun Stayers champion Moraine Suzie. Wow, what a week to return!
