Local trainer ‘hooked’ on Sale

Promising youngster Two Boo Hook entered the history books as the first winner on the new Sale track on Sunday evening.

The first race on opening night was a maiden event comprising a full complement of local trainers, with winning trainer Charlie Galea delighted that Sale is back in operation after undergoing a major redevelopment over the past eight months.

“It’s a big thrill to win the first race on the new track. It’s what I was hoping for,” Galea said.

“I’ve been trialling at Sale for the last three weeks and the track is just so nice and wide.”

“It’s terrific to have the track up and going again to give local trainers another place to trial and another place to race.”

Galea said Two Boo Hook, just 20 months of age, is a greyhound with enormous potential.

The Hazelwood trainer thought his training days may have been over when he suffered a mini-stroke in January, however he has overcome the serious setback and has a spring in his step again following Sunday’s impressive four-length win.
