The Stir Up | Nationals Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Gents, State of Origin for greyhound racing is taking place tomorrow with the National Championships at Healesville (Straight Track) and The Meadows (Distance and Sprint).

Gerard Quilts, Victoria is well represented in the straight track decider courtesy of Unleash Collinda – the dual track record holder at Healesville – and Maybe Yesterday; victorious in nine of his last 11 races.

Trent Federal Outlaw (SA), Oscar Moses (NSW) and Valhalla (QLD) won their respective state finals, and Shall Not (NSW) had a 13-race winning streak from February to June this year.

Quilts After the action at Healesville, we then head to The Meadows for two Group 1 finals. Let’s start our focus on the National Championship for the stayers.

Gerard Zoha Bale is in scintillating form with six successive victories. Will he provide Victoria with their sixth national distance champion in the last eight editions?

Quilts The biggest dangers appear to be from New South Wales with Palawa King triumphant in last month’s Group 1 Queensland Cup Final and Zipping Vanessa the state champion.

Trent There is a fairytale in the offering, Quilts, with dual Group 3 winner Days Of Thunder – ‘The White Wonder’ of Queensland – running for the 68th and final time.

Gerard Postman Pat has a top chance to parcel up a Group 1 title tomorrow night. Can he claim the first national championship for a Victorian-trained sprinter since Fernando Bale in 2015?

Quilts Don’t count out Tinker Norm, Gerard. The Maturity Classic placegetter has upstaged Postman Pat and his Jason Thompson-trained kennelmate Transponder in the past six weeks.

Trent Aussie Rocks is also representing Victoria, while Bear’s Bullet (QLD), Modern Swinger (NSW) and Saige Tenniele (WA) will be hoping to halt the local charge. Go the Big V!
