The Stir Up | August 3 Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Fellas, we have terrific Premier Racing at Sandown Park this evening and The Meadows on Saturday night with the VIC Sprint Championship heats. Let’s start with the action at Sandown Park.

Gerard Can Hector Fawley break the 595-metre track record set by Collinda Patty in Race 4? He has won five-of-six at the track and distance, and he is unbeaten in four starts from Box 1.

Trent Cruise Mode was exceptional in her first race for over five weeks at The Meadows last Saturday night. She gets her opportunity to impress again in Race 5 this evening.

Quilts The sixth race should be, dare I say it, a crackerjack event with Crackerjack Aret involved. Hill Top Jack, River Rough, Vaucluse Bale and Dundee Rebel are pretty handy too.

Gerard Navarino and Mepunga Mustang should provide a great duel in Race 7 and Race 9 appears similar with dual Group winner Stout Monelli and the promising Head The Charge.

Trent The race to the Nationals begins in earnest on Saturday night. Amron Boy is the class runner in the first heat (Race 5) with his exceptional record at The Meadows and the inside draw (six wins from nine starts).

Quilts The second heat (Race 6) features the brilliant Baby Jaycee. Transponder, El Dorado, Yachi Bale and the recent Maturity Classic winner Launch Code will ensure it is a top event.

Gerard How great is the third heat (Race 7) going to be with the returning country cups queen Kelsey Bale facing the hottest greyhound in the country, Postman Pat.

Quilts The amazing part about the third heat, Gerard, is that Afire, Zippy Tesla, Idolize and Tinker Norm are all in form, but they are against two of the biggest stars in Australia.

Trent Don’t forget that Traralgon is staging the Castle of Mey Final tomorrow afternoon and even though The Arrow has been cancelled, Healesville has the Highway 31 Maiden Challenge Final on Sunday.
