The Stir Up | July 27 Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Gents, classy greyhounds dominate Premier Racing at Sandown Park this evening and The Meadows on Saturday night. Let’s start with the action at Sandown Park tonight.

Gerard Quilts, Race 6 features Pink Diamond Champion Sprinter winner Transponder in his preferred Box 8. Mepunga Mustang, River Rough and Zara Marnie will provide tough opposition.

Trent Succeed was special at The Meadows on Saturday night running three lengths off the long-time 600-metre track record set by Dyna Double One. He lines up in Race 8.

Quilts Tinker Norm was a gutsy third in the Group 1 Maturity Classic Final and he headlines Race 9. Triumph and Aussie Rocks – impressive on Saturday night – won’t make the task easy.

Gerard We then head to The Meadows and Race 5 features Idolize. It was amazing for the mother of three pups to win her first race since a heat of last year’s Melbourne Cup.

Trent El Dorado and Stout Monelli are also quality chasers in that fifth race, Gerard. The stars keep coming with three-time Group 1 champion Jarick Bale in Race 6.

Quilts How good is the quality of the field in Race 7 over the 600-metre trip? Palawa King, Navarino, Hector Fawley and Yachi Bale. It is worthy of a Group final.

Gerard Baby Jaycee will be aiming to commence another winning streak in the 525-metre Free For All, which is Race 8. Adhana Rico, Kai Bale and Landyn Bale cannot be dismissed lightly.

Trent Postman Pat made jaws drop last Thursday night at Sandown Park with his winning time of 29.063 seconds. What time will he clock in Race 9; his first run at The Meadows?

Gerard Don’t forget about the Southern Stars Final at Goulburn tomorrow afternoon. Anthony Azzopardi has Big Daddy due to the scratching of Salad Dodger, while Geoff Scott-Smith looks after Dundee Smokey.
