The Stir Up | Maturity Classic Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Fellas, I cannot wait for Saturday night as the Group 1 KCR Pet Transport Maturity Classic Final at The Meadows appears to have a number of chances.

Gerard Quilts, Andrew Paraskevas admitted to me that he decided to nominate New Wave Whine at the 11th hour last week. Now he has one of the leading contenders for the final courtesy of the inside draw.

Trent You also caught up with Craig Burns, trainer of Tinker Norm (Box 2). He was beaming with pride after Tinker Norm just pipped Pink Diamond winner Transponder in their heat.

Quilts Make No Promise (Box 3) thrashed his rivals including Sandgroper winner Crumble Monelli in his heat. Can he emulate his sire Fernando Bale who won in race-record time back in 2015?

Gerard Professor Snitch (Box 4) won for the seventh time at start 10 and she was almost the fastest heat winner. Her sire – Sennachie – was triumphant in the 2019 Maturity Classic Final.

Trent I hope the P.O.D. song Boom is ready to be played if Crackerjack Boom (Box 5) prevails. He loves The Meadows 525-metre trip with two wins and a third from four starts.

Quilts Owner Luigi Pisano will be hoping that there’s no problem with Launch Code (Box 6). He is unbeaten in three starts since moving from his original trainer to Brooke and Jamie Ennis.

Trent Zara Marnie just edged out Professor Snitch as the quickest heat winner. Box 7 may not be a huge concern as she has won four of her seven starts from the outside two boxes.

Gerard Baby Jaycee (Box 8) is one of three females in the final along with Professor Snitch and Zara Marnie. Can she follow Qwara Bale and Wow She’s Fast and be the third successive female to win the Maturity Classic?

Trent Don’t forget the outstanding Group 3 KCR Fireball Final featuring Group 1 winners Ariarne Bale, Untapped and Jarick Bale. Plus, we see Postman Pat at Sandown Park tonight.
