The Stir Up – Warragul Cup Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts  Gents, the second event in the Gippsland Festival of Racing takes place on Friday night and after numerous upsets in the heats, the Group 2 Warragul Cup Final is wide open.

Gerard  Quilts, Landyn Bale (Box 1) is racing terrifically with four victories in his last six starts. The Silver Chief Final form, where he finished third to Amron Boy, is looking strong.

Trent  Can Titan Blazer (Box 2) break through in his seventh Group final? He’s been placed in two Group events and last year’s Warragul Cup finalist displayed his trademark tenacity last Friday night.

Quilts  Mobile Legend (Box 3) raced for the first time since a heat of the Group 1 Hobart Thousand last Friday night and gave his rivals windburn. Will his ‘legend’ grow further?

Gerard  I see what you did there, Quilts. Peter Presutto will be hoping that Dynamic Prince (Box 4) is dynamic after his blistering win in his second run since the Melbourne Cup heats.

Trent  Panadero Warrior (Box 5) backed up his scorching effort at Shepparton on January 2 when he chased down Fernando Mick last Friday night. Can he overcome a difficult draw?.

Quilts  Money Owes (Box 6) continued his hot recent form last Friday night and defeated Wow She’s Fast in the process. He is aiming to win for the eighth time in his last 10 starts.

Trent  High Tribe Rico (Box 7) was victorious in his heat last Friday evening over Salad Dodger, and he broke the Traralgon 450-metre track record last night.

Gerard  He’s airborne at the moment” was the description that trainer Michelle Mallia provided for Matt’s Hope (Box 8) when we chatted this week. Will it be seventh heaven?

Trent  The Cup Night match race between Wow She’s Fast and Quinlan Bale is another highlight of the evening. Good luck to the Victorian-trained chasers racing at Albion Park and Wentworth Park over the next few nights.
