Spritzed in ‘Great’ blitz!

The ‘drinks’ were on All Spritzed Up in today’s Group 3 Great Chase semi-finals (525m) at The Meadows.

All Spritzed Up ($1.80F) – a ‘great’ find during the series for champion Rowsley-based trainer Anthony Azzopardi – showed more than a ‘splash’ of class, easily clocking the fastest time of the six semi-finals.

An exciting “new kid on the block”, All Spritzed Up (Aug ’20 Ritza Lenny x All Dolled Up) ‘poured’ on the pressure with a flying 29.78sec performance. In fact, he was the only semi-finalist to register sub-30sec.

He’s now won six races (with two seconds) from nine starts, with all these wins coming from his past seven outings.

All Spritzed Up came to notice as a ‘spiffy’ tyro with three metropolitan middle distance wins from late-July to mid-August prior to a 29.73sec sprint success at Sandown Park early last month. His next start was 24 days later when he finished second in a Great Chase heat (515m) – also at Sandown Park.

Meanwhile, Anakie-based Jeff Britton will launch a three-pronged challenge in next Wednesday’s $70,335 Great Chase final – carrying a $47,000 first prize – courtesy of a slow 30.90sec semi-final win by Westar Commander ($3.30) and the fastest two second placegetters, Mepunga Raider (30.16sec) and Blazing’ Master (30.26sec).
