Peter the ‘Great’?

The Great 8 Regional Series has been applauded by all and sundry.

Two more of these exciting races, both worth $7000 to the winner, will be staged at Traralgon tonight – one a Damsels Dash (395m) and the other a Special Event (450m).

The sheer quality of both fields is indicative of trainer support for this GRV initiative.

And they’re highlighted by Graeme Jose vs Peter Presutto in both races.

Simba’s Girl (Box 1) is pitted against Idolize (Box 7) in Race 6, 8.28pm.

And the other enthralling match-up is Lots Of Chatter (Box 3) going tete-a-tete with Dynamic Prince (Box 6) in Race 8, 9.08pm.

TAB has installed Idolize as a $1.95 favourite from Simba’s Girl, which is well in commission at $3.00.

A four-time G1 finalist – including victory in the National Futurity and second in the Temlee – Idolize has won 15 races from 30 starts. And she’s four from five exiting the ‘black’ alley.

A rising star, Simba’s Girl has won four races from only nine starts. She recently finished third in the Listed Pink Diamond Princess final.

Meanwhile, Dynamic Prince is a $2.60F, with Lots Of Chatter on the third line of betting at $5.50.

Dynamic Prince – a finalist in the G2 Shepparton Cup (7th) and Healesville Derby (3rd) – has won 14 races from 34 starts.

‘Old stager’ Lots Of Chatter – a five-time G2 finalist – has won 38 races from 108 starts. He was a recent finalist in the Listed Pink Diamond Veterans.
