$10,000 to Tasmanian families

Brendan Pursell and his team of greyhounds have helped raise $7,000 for the families of the Devonport jumping castle tragedy last year.

For the month of January, GRV donated $500 for every place getter Brendan’s team recorded.

Brendan is a former Tasmanian greyhound trainer who made the move from Hobart to Victoria in 2015.

GRV will top up the $7,000 donation to $10,000, which will be made to the Go Fund Me Page | Support for Families – Hilcrest Primary School.

Greyhound Racing Chair, Peita Duncan thanked Brendan for taking part in the fundraiser.

“As a greyhound community our hearts have gone out to everyone affected by this tragedy, and we hope the monies raised assist in some small way”, said Ms Duncan.

Brendan’s team placed on 14 occasions throughout the month of January.

The dogs who competed include

  • Don’t Tell Bluey
  • Bilali
  • Call Me Buster
  • Belle Ali
  • Big Wings
  • Jimali
