Traralgon set for return as Cup distance is revealed

Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club will conduct its first official race meeting on its new J-curve track on Saturday 15 January.

Traralgon will race over 395m and 500m initially, with plans to open the 350m and 450m starts in the coming weeks.

As the 450m start is currently inactive, the 2022 Traralgon Cup will be held over 395m in 2022 only.

Heats for the Traralgon Cup will be held on Friday 21 January, with the final to be run on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January.

2022 GROUP 2 TRARALGON CUP DATES
Heats: Friday 21 January (Night)
Final: Wednesday 26 January (Night)
First prize: $47,000

Please note: New drop on starting boxes for Traralgon are designed to be lifted on and off the track using a pneumatic arm. Unfortunately, during the COVID lockdowns the manufacture and installation of the pneumatic arms have been substantially delayed. The new drop on starting boxes with pneumatic arm are expected to be delivered to Traralgon for use in early March 2022. In the meantime, the same drive on drop on starting boxes that are used at other Victorian greyhound racing tracks will be used at Traralgon.
